How to beat: Drowner
Drowners usually come in groups of three or more, and if they burrow into the ground they have spotted you and are preparing an ambush, so watch for disturbances at your feet and roll away. Their leaping attacks cannot be parried or countered, but their normal claw swipes can be countered, which is risky when several drowners attack at once. They are weak to Igni, which sets them alight and stuns them while they screech, and a good combo is to catch the pack in Yrden and then hit them with Igni. They dodge Aard well and Axii does not work on them. Coat your silver sword with Necrophage oil, never let yourself get surrounded, and exploit the moment when they scream over a fallen companion, as that leaves them defenseless for a few seconds.
About
Drowners look like corpses pulled from a pond, with sickly blue or green skin, slime and a stench of rot, which is why people think they are drowned men. In fact they are post-Conjunction creatures with scales, gills and dorsal fins, living near rivers, lakes, mill ponds and sewers. They are cowardly scavengers by nature, but they will drag lone travelers into the water, and they become bolder at dusk, at night and in the rain.
Loot
Possible drops – not every kill yields all of them.
