How to beat: Devourer
Coat your silver sword with Necrophage oil and keep Quen up to absorb their blows. Watch out for rotfiends, which like to join the fight and can quickly overwhelm you. Like rotfiends, devourers explode when their health drops low enough, so back away as soon as you see one choking with a swelling head. The blast also damages other nearby enemies, which you can use to your advantage. A Blizzard potion helps too, slowing enemies down once you have built up adrenaline.
About
Devourers are necrophages that keep company with rotfiends and gather near corpses. They are said to have inspired the dark folk tale of Black Annis, and the stories reportedly soften how dangerous it is to wander near a devourer's lair.
