How to beat: Armored arachas
Drink Golden Oriole before the fight, since its bites and spit are venomous, and coat your silver sword with Insectoid oil. Once provoked it closes the distance by skittering, leaping or pulling you in with a sticky secretion. Its fast foreclaw strikes can be parried to briefly stun it, but when it raises both forelegs and exposes its mouth, get out of the way, because that blow cannot be stopped. Yrden slows it down and makes melee easier, and crossbow bolts are useful, especially when it opens its mouth wide. Its armor resists sword strikes even more than a regular arachas, so prepare for a long fight and bring healing potions.
About
The armored arachas is a heavier variety of arachas that has grown a thick carapace over all the soft parts of its body, including the vulnerable abdomen other arachasae hide under tree stumps. It is a true behemoth that knocks victims down with its mass, tramples them and eats the remains. It is highly venomous and is encountered in Novigrad and Skellige.
