Botchling

· Patch 5.01

A botchling is a small creature resembling a badly deformed fetus, born from a stillborn, unwanted baby that was not given a proper burial. It hides under the beds of pregnant women and drains their strength, and once the mother is helpless it feeds on her blood, killing her and the unborn child. The curse can be lifted by performing an elven naming ritual and burying it under the family's threshold, which turns it into a lubberkin, a guardian spirit of the home.

Botchling is a monster from the cursed one class in The Witcher 3. It is vulnerable to: Cursed oil, Axii. Where to find it: Crow's Perch. Loot includes Necrophage hide, Lesser blue mutagen, Lesser green mutagen, Lesser red mutagen and 9 more. It appears in the quest Family Matters.

How to beat: Botchling

When threatened, a botchling grows into a much larger creature that resembles a ghoul or alghoul with spines on its back. Cast Axii to make the spines retract for a short time, giving you a safe window to strike. Coat your silver sword with Cursed oil to deal extra damage.
