How to beat: Werebear
A berserker starts the fight in human form, when a steel sword with Hanged Man's Venom and your usual tactics against people work best. Once it transforms, switch to a silver sword coated in Cursed oil. In bear form it fights like an ordinary bear, only tougher and more relentless, so keep Quen up and use Igni; if you have developed the sign, the Melt Armor ability is especially handy. Devil's Puffball is also listed among its weaknesses.
About
Werebears, known in Skellige as berserkers, are people who turn into bears or half-bears, either because of a curse or by inheriting the trait from werebear parents. Skellige legends say they change when overcome by battle rage, lose all self-awareness and must sate their bloodlust before turning back. In bear form they seem impervious to pain and heal almost at once; steel barely harms them, but silver does.
