How to beat: Pale Widow
The Pale Widow is not especially strong, but it moves around a lot and strikes quickly, so stay mobile and keep Quen or Yrden active. It spits acid at most three times before burrowing to relocate; dodge the shots or drink Golden Oriole. After you land three hits, back off, because it curls up and answers with a retaliation strike of decent reach. While it is underground, place Yrden where it will emerge beneath Geralt and step away at the last moment to trap it, then aim for its pale belly rather than its tough dark back. Insectoid oil on your blade helps as well.
About
The Pale Widow is a rare giant centipede named for its white coloring, living in underground lairs in Toussaint. Like its common relatives it is protected by hard chitinous armor with many hooked legs, and some scholars breed it in laboratories because its albumen is an excellent base for mutagenic potions.
