How to beat: Wolf
Wolves try to surround their prey and attack from many directions, so never let the pack get behind you. Holding parry blocks their bites and well-timed counterattacks work, but a large pack attacks so often that you need to break their momentum. Yrden slows them and makes counters easier, as long as you stay inside the circle. When surrounded, use Igni or Aard to scatter them, as wolves often catch fire or get knocked down, then finish off downed animals. Coat your blade with Beast oil, and remember that wolves summoned by a leshen must be fought with the silver sword and can be lured into the leshen's own root attacks.
About
Wolves are ordinary but dangerous predators found in Velen, White Orchard, Skellige and Toussaint, close relatives of village dogs. They usually hunt in packs, sometimes led by a warg, and make up for their lack of magic with cunning. Their presence can also hint at something worse nearby, since they often share territory with werewolves and leshens.
