How to beat: Katakan
A katakan grows stronger at night, so if possible hunt it by day, when its regeneration is weakened. Invisibility is its main weapon: Yrden reveals it and pins it in place for a burst of silver sword attacks, while Igni, fire bombs and Moon Dust also force it into the open. Coat your blade with Vampire oil and drink Black Blood so that its bites hurt the katakan as well. Devil's Puffball is listed among its weaknesses too.
About
Katakans are vampires that resemble enormous bats with long fangs and even longer claws. They feed on blood, heal quickly, hear extremely well, move very fast and can turn invisible, so their shadow is often the only clue to where they are. Sunlight does not turn them to ash, but at midday their regeneration slows considerably.
Loot
Possible drops – not every kill yields all of them.
