Best Builds in The Witcher 3 Remastered – Ranking and Comparison
The 4 best builds in The Witcher 3 Remastered ranked: Euphoria, Magic Sensibilities, Bloodbath and Conductors of Magic. Playstyle, difficulty, point cost and armor.
The Remaster reset everyone's skills, so every player faces the same question: which build should I pick? Below we compare the four strongest builds for the new skill trees. We explain how each one plays, how much it costs and who it suits. Each build comes with its active skill board and a button that loads the whole build into the calculator.
Quick comparison
| Build | Playstyle | Difficulty | Points | Trees | Armor |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Euphoria | melee + Toxicity | hard | 79 | Combat, Alchemy, General | Manticore (light) |
| Magic Sensibilities | Signs | medium | 53 | Signs, General | Griffin (medium) |
| Bloodbath | pure sword | easy | 56 | Combat, General | Wolven (medium) |
| Conductors of Magic | sword + Signs | medium | 102 | Combat, Signs, General | Griffin (medium) |
Points are the skill points plus the cost of the mutations that unlock the extra slots. The mutation costs are explained in the mutations guide.
1. Euphoria: Toxicity build

Euphoria: Toxicity build
Mutation: Euphoria · Skill points needed: 79
The strongest of the four. The Euphoria mutation raises weapon damage and Sign intensity for every point of Toxicity. So you drink potions, keep Toxicity high and fight mostly with fast attacks. Quen and Yrden are the only Signs you need.
- Strengths: the highest melee damage, lots of critical hits, healing from potions.
- Weaknesses: you have to manage Toxicity. The build costs 79 points, because three mutation slots require eight researched mutations.
- Best for: players who like alchemy and want maximum damage.
The full guide with the leveling order is in the Euphoria build guide.
2. Magic Sensibilities: Sign build

Magic Sensibilities: Sign build
Mutation: Magic Sensibilities · Skill points needed: 53
A pure mage. The Magic Sensibilities mutation lets Signs deal critical hits, and it scales with Sign intensity. Yrden on the ground weakens enemies, Igni and Aard deal the damage, and active Quen heals you.
- Strengths: the cheapest build (53 points), very tanky thanks to Quen, fights at range.
- Weaknesses: you need armor with a lot of Sign intensity, ideally the full Griffin set.
- Best for: players who prefer Signs to the sword.
3. Bloodbath: Sword build

Bloodbath: Sword build
Mutation: Bloodbath · Skill points needed: 56
The simplest build, purely Combat. The Bloodbath mutation raises weapon damage with every hit. You need no potions and barely use any Signs besides Quen. In the Remaster you still have to weave attacks, because Three Strikes only empowers a chain of attacks of the same type.
- Strengths: easy to learn, 56 points, almost everything in one tree.
- Weaknesses: fewer tools against tough enemies than builds with alchemy or Signs.
- Best for: a first playthrough after the Remaster and players who just want to fight with the sword.
4. Conductors of Magic: Battle Mage build

Conductors of Magic: Battle Mage build
Mutation: Conductors of Magic · Skill points needed: 102
The "lore-accurate" Geralt who mixes sword and magic. The Conductors of Magic mutation adds weapon damage to Sign damage, and after you cast a Sign your next strikes scale with Sign intensity. You fight with fast attacks and weave in Igni and Aard.
- Strengths: the most versatile build, four mutation slots.
- Weaknesses: the most expensive (102 points). Four mutation slots require all 12 mutations, so it is a late-game or New Game+ build.
- Best for: players who want to use both the sword and Signs.
Which build should you pick?
- You want it simple: Bloodbath.
- You want the highest damage: Euphoria.
- You prefer Signs: Magic Sensibilities.
- You want sword and magic: Conductors of Magic, once you have plenty of points.
You can open any build in the calculator and adjust it, for example swap slotted skills or use fewer mutation slots to make the build cheaper. If you are just starting after the reset, see the guide on what to pick after a skill reset.
FAQ
What is the best build in The Witcher 3 Remastered?
Euphoria deals the most damage, but you have to master Toxicity. Bloodbath is the easiest, and the Sign build with the Magic Sensibilities mutation is the cheapest.
Which build is best for a first playthrough?
Bloodbath. Almost all points go into Combat, you need no potions and you only use Signs for defense.
Do these builds work without the Blood and Wine expansion?
The skills do, but mutations come from Blood and Wine. Without it you have the 12 regular slots, no mutation slots and no mutation effect.
How many skill points do these builds need?
From 53 (Magic Sensibilities) to 102 (Conductors of Magic), including the mutation costs. The calculator shows the exact numbers after you load a build.
