How to beat: Griffin
Ground a griffin with Aard or a crossbow, then fight it up close with a silver sword coated in hybrid oil; Grapeshot is also effective. Staying in melee range denies it the long-distance tackle, which is hard to avoid and very dangerous. A raised wing signals a talon swipe, and attacking from the side hits it where it is least protected. Its attacks cause bleeding, so use Quen or Swallow, and watch for its stunning roar. A Northern Wind bomb can freeze it in place.
About
The griffin is a hybrid with a lion's body and an eagle's head, wings and talons. Once a mountain hunter of goats and marmots, it learned that livestock and shepherds are easier prey and became a common pest across the Northern Realms. Griffins mate for life and defend their partners to the death, track prey by smell and open with a devastating dive from above.
