How to beat: Shrieker
The Shrieker pecks from the front and sweeps its wings at you from the sides, and when airborne it dive-bombs its target. Its frontal attacks start almost instantly and stay dangerous for a long time, so do not stand in front of it. It has no attacks to the rear, so staying behind it is by far the safest position. Bring it down from the air with Aard, a Grapeshot bomb or the crossbow, and roll under its wing when it charges. Coat your silver sword with Draconid oil, and Swallow helps against the heavy bleeding it causes.
About
The Shrieker is an unusually vicious cockatrice that nests in a cave near Crow's Perch in Velen. It preys mostly on cows and goats, but will not pass up a human who crosses its path. Its precise strikes open deep, bleeding wounds.
