How to beat: Wyvern
Wyverns spit venom from a distance and inject it with their tail stinger, so drink Golden Oriole before the fight. They circle high above, out of crossbow range, then swoop down at great speed to claw at you. Aard and Grapeshot bombs can bring a wyvern to the ground, while ordinary crossbow bolts do little. On the ground it attacks with talons, teeth and tail; its bites can be parried, but a failed parry hurts badly. Wyverns are poor at dodging on the ground, and a steady stream of fast attacks with a sword coated in Draconid oil can keep them off balance.
About
Wyverns are draconids with snake-like necks and long tails tipped with a venomous stinger, often mistaken for dragons even though they are much smaller and do not breathe fire. They have been seen nesting in northeastern Velen, but adapt well and turn up across the Continent and Skellige. The so-called royal wyverns are especially ornery and deadly.
